Jarod Gilbert holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of South Florida. In 2007, he obtained his Juris Doctorate degree from Florida Coastal School of Law where he attended as a Governor’s Scholarship recipient. During his time in law school, Jarod received the Book Award for the highest grade in Lawyering Process I which specialized in Advocacy, Legal Writing and Research. After law school, he began his career in law as a member of the State Attorney’s Office for the 5th Judicial Circuit. As an Assistant State Attorney, he successfully prosecuted thousands of criminal cases ranging from 2nd Degree misdemeanors to 1st Degree felonies. In addition, Jarod participated in over fifty jury trials and conducted over thirty jury trials as lead counsel. During his time at the State Attorney’s Office, he had the opportunity to work in the Public Interest Unit where he specialized in handling cases involving organized fraud, exploitation of the elderly, unlicensed contracting, sales tax theft, and other white-collar crimes. In fact, Jarod was successful in achieving justice for hundreds of people who were victimized by complex theft schemes. Currently, Jarod practices insurance defense, specializing in Florida’s No Fault Law. He has been successful in achieving numerous dismissals on behalf of his clients as well as recouping attorney’s fees based on unfounded claims.
